The Department of Homeland Security report on "Right-Wing Extremism". I'm posting the link because the actual report was harder to find than I expected.
I am of the opinion that this is probably not politically motivated, and not directed at "tea parties." Try to think of it as more of a routine assessment along the lines of "the Timothy McVeigh threat" than as a political attack. (Link may be overwhelmed.) The report is arguably just very poorly named.
Even so, I remain cautious that if you give government the power to "do good," it can (and probably will) eventually be used to do bad by an administration with a different agenda. This report may not mark a shift in Department of Homeland Security priorities from guarding against legitimate terrorist threats to suppressing dissent, but in my opinion that remains a political eventuality.
