Obama's energy secretary is actually suggesting that we paint rooftops and roads white, claiming that the environmental impact would be the same as taking all of the world's cars off the road for 11 years.
This is just the tip of a big insanity iceberg, folks. If you ever wanted to understand what the "separation of church and state" idea is all about, this is it: the federal government is being run according to the beliefs of a cult, pure and simple, and that cult's religious beliefs are about to be codified into everything you do. Environmentalism is the new state religion.
And a significant number of resources will stop going into the development and production of things you want to buy, because these crackpot regulations will make it more profitable to come up with worthless -- or even detrimental -- changes to products you already have, in the name of global warming. Not even counting Obamas's taxes, Obama's plans for healthcare or his economy-paralyzing deficits, this global warming crap alone is going to stagnate your standard of living, and will even roll it back. In short, you are about to be put in your place by the enviro-wackos who now run the country, and this "white rooftops" nonsense is just a glimpse into the minds of these head cases.
These people are living in a very different reality. Only now they've got guns, and they're demanding that you live by the rules of this altered reality, too.

A lightly colored roof reflects heat away making your house cooler during summer, just like insulation. A reflecting (as opposed to absorbing) roadway/parking lot/roof is commonsense, basic gradeschool stuff.
Spend less money on air conditioning for your house "leaving MORE to pay for things you actually want."
