It's just plain terrifying that this whole government sweepstakes thing has become the new standard response to economic slowdown.
I suppose I could feel vindicated for thinking months ago that this won't work. It would be a lot easier to reconcile with government if I could say, "See? I told you it wouldn't work."
Amazingly, there are idiots who think all we need is a bigger stimulus. And many of those idiots are in charge.
Allow me to explain: When we said, "Stimulus will never work, no matter how big it is," that wasn't a dare.
These are scary, scary days for America.
Great URL.
I'd like to know your thoughts on this rendition of Common Sense:

John Galt,
The Director of the Congressional Budget Office is telling Congress what they're doing is not sustainable under current law, but it appears to have no impact on the juggernaut at all.
The blog I'm referencing:

Is this a law Congress can be sued for breaking? I am already tired of seeing huge Stimulus Dollars At Work signs plastered next to all the SIDEWALKS being built in areas with no jobs, no decent housing, no stores, and no place worth taking A WALK TO..talk about a trip to nowhere..bizarre.

Wow. Reminds me of certain rail ways through rural areas where there was certain to be no return on investment only increasingly disibilitating maintaince costs and plumeting resources across the entire system.
If things are bad enough to warrant stimulus, is building SIDEWALKS the best thing that can be thought of to avoid future occurances or limit the impact of the current crisis? Shouldn't the money you're taxed build your side walks and the Stimulus be fixing the problems that would otherwise take that tax money away?
