13 state attorneys general are threatening to legal action if Nebraska's "Cornhusker Kickback" is not removed from the healthcare bill.
More importantly, this could give Ben Nelson the excuse he needs to reject the conferenced bill, killing healthcare reform and (maybe) saving his career.
Neither Nelson needs an excuse to vote against the conference bill. Since only 51 Senators are needed next time, Harry Reid has already designated who can opt out, and I'll bet the Nelsons are among them -- allowing them to brag to their ignorant constituents that they really were against (whatever the final bill says) all along. THIS WAS ALWAYS PART OF THE DEAL.

Conference reports can be filibustered.
Last I heard, that still applies to this one, too.
Has anyone heard any differently?
